Our History: Rooted in the Past, Looking Toward the Future
1955: Grandfather Giuseppe’s Early Years
It all began in 1955, at a time when the land was synonymous with life and sacrifice. It was then that Grandfather Giuseppe, with the foresight of one who could see far into the future, decided to transform an old plot of land traditionally used for growing wheat.
On his own, armed with nothing but his hands and a clear vision, he brought about a profound transformation: where wheat stalks once swayed, the first olive trees, rows of grapevines, and fragrant citrus groves began to take root. It was not merely a change in crops, but the creation of a legacy.
1970: A Family, a Land
Alongside Grandma Antonina and their children, Giuseppe tended this patch of land with a love that we would today call heroic. Every stone of the ancient dry-stone walls was laid by hand, stone by stone, to protect and support the soil. The family’s passion has made it possible to preserve and integrate ancient varieties of local fruits, creating a true treasure trove of biodiversity: from very sweet figs to peaches, from plums to apricots, not to mention the crunch of almonds and the flavor of grapes. Each fruit tells the story of a season; each plant is a memory.
1990: The evolution of the new generations begins
That same dedication has been passed down to his son Michele and his wife Anna — a courageous, creative woman and an endless source of inspiration for the whole family—who, together with their two sons, Giuseppe and Alessio, have taken up the torch, honoring and building upon the work begun by their grandfather Giuseppe, while looking toward the new frontiers of agriculture.
Animés tous deux par un penchant inné pour la recherche et la création de produits alimentaires véritablement naturels, qui constituent une véritable source de nutriments pour l’organisme et qui renferment des arômes et des saveurs authentiques et uniques, Michele et Anna ont eux-mêmes perfectionné, au fil de plus de quarante ans d’expérience, des méthodes et des critères de sélection de fruits et de produits alimentaires de la plus haute qualité. C’est pourquoi, au fil des ans, ils ont réussi à faire découvrir et à sensibiliser un nombre toujours plus grand de personnes qui ont reconnu dans leur huile d’olive, leurs agrumes, leur miel et leurs légumes toute la bonté de produits agricoles 100 % naturels qui, comme beaucoup l’ont admis, renferment « la véritable saveur des produits naturels d’autrefois ».
Driven by a shared passion for researching and creating truly natural food products—ones that serve as a genuine source of nutrients for the body and offer authentic, unique aromas and flavors—Michele and Anna have, over the course of more than forty years of experience, perfected methods and criteria for selecting fruits and food products of the highest quality. That is why, over the years, they have succeeded in introducing and raising awareness among an ever-growing number of people who have recognized in their olive oil, citrus fruits, honey, and vegetables all the goodness of 100% natural agricultural products that, as many have acknowledged, contain “the true flavor of the natural products of yesteryear”.

Giuseppe and Alessio, in turn, have carefully learned and preserved this sometimes obsessive and meticulous culture of natural and healthy products. But that’s not all: they recognized the unique opportunity to become the guardians of an agri-food heritage rooted in the rich variety of aromas and flavors of Sicily, a land bathed in sunshine year-round and bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. A bountiful land that offers us—and future generations—the best of nature. That is why, thanks to Giuseppe’s energy and vitality, Villardita Tropical Farm was born: a benchmark in the Sicilian, national, and European landscape for high-quality food products.
Our mission is clear: to ensure the highest production standards and consistently deliver natural products with the finest and most refined organoleptic qualities, with the aim of becoming the benchmark—the informed and trusted choice—for everyone who wishes to discover and appreciate the authentic taste and aroma of natural products that nourish and care for the body, while respecting nature.
Through Villardita Tropical Farm, we have chosen to launch initiatives aimed at enriching our existing agricultural heritage, focusing on diversity and, above all, on quality, such as:
- Tropical Innovation: the introduction of hundreds of mango and avocado trees, which now coexist harmoniously with traditional crops, responding to major new trends and climate change—factors that all too often lead to the abandonment of vast areas of Sicilian land.
- The Oil of the Future: new olive varieties, to bring even more nuance and character to our extra virgin olive oil, as well as new techniques and cutting-edge tools to protect the plants and the harvest, ensuring the highest possible quality for a truly natural and healthy extra virgin olive oil.
- Aromatic herbs: hedges of rosemary, sage, lavender, and oregano that today perfume the air, provide food for the region’s bees, and complement the ecosystem of the entire farm.
- Organic farming: All production of avocados, lemons, mangoes, and olives complies with European Union Regulation 2018/848, certifying the very high quality of every fruit and product produced by the Villardita family.
- Research: Each season and each vintage is now part of an ongoing program of research and innovation aimed at improving cultivars, processes, and production techniques.
Today, our company is part of a legacy spanning three generations and looks to the future with confidence. From Giuseppe’s hard work to Alessio’s enthusiasm, with the support of Anna and Michele, our goal remains and will always remain the same: to cultivate with respect, innovate with intelligence, and share the finest fruits of our passion.
